Hello,
we hope everyone has had a good New Year!
2006 was a great year for Herb, we unearthed some wonderful new artists with real style and diversity
and we took our first steps into the digital download market. 2007 promises to be much bigger and much better though.
Our first CD release, "Carnivalesque" by Scottish duo Rubens is imminent and this will herald in our shift into the CD market.
*This album is currently available from the Herb CD Store

“Rubens have created an album of timeless electronica, full of infectious melodies & emotionally stirring compositions,
that sit gracefully with hi tech beat programming...2007 is already off to a great start.”
DublinXFM Radio
“Rubens’ Carnivalesque is one of the most refreshingly emotive electronic albums we’ve heard in quite some time,
reminiscent of the likes of The Black Dog and Caribou at their best. From heart-tuggingly
upbeat melodics through to melancholic downtempo cuts, this debut album from the Scottish duo is a slice of absolute class.”
Reverb Magazine
“Carnivalesque was intended to be an album of “head-nodding melodic electronic music”,
every box is checked with regards to that statement,
making this a fine debut from the Rubens team and another goal for Herb Recordings.”
Boring Machines Disturb Sleep
Swiftly followed by the Rubens CD is the limited edition CD of the new Kinbastard ep [B a s t a r d i z e]
*This ep is currently available from the Herb CD Store

"The beats are innovative and the melodies plentiful. There is some terrific work here,
most notably "[Box Clever]", "[Goodbye Mr Bendigo]" and "[Data Rape Function Creep]".
2007 could very well be the year of the bastard!."
Boring Machines Disturbs Sleep
2007 also sees us welcome 2 new artists to the label,.Engine7 from Scotland and Skytree from the USA.
Both of these highly talented individuals will be more than welcome additions to the label
and we're sure you'll love their music as much as we do.
Herb will now be operating on two fronts, Herb and Herb Digital. Herb Digital will continue our policy of
giving new and emerging artists their chance in the digital market. And through Herb we will also be building our CD catalogue
and releasing great new music on this format from now on also.
During March/April we will be setting up a new subscription service that will allow subscribers
to get new music delivered through their door on a monthly basis. The new music will be
a selection of official CD releases, digital EP releases on high quality cdrs, guest artist herb mixes,
compilation albums and a mish mash of other stuff also.
Please keep an aye on the herb site for the official launch.
Enjoy The Herb!
